Survey
In November 2006 Co.As.It. conducted a survey of all staff employed throughout the organisation. The survey covered three different sectors which are Office staff, Community Services workers and Teachers. The main objective of the survey was to collect detailed information regarding general views of the workplace, recruitment and selection, promotion and transfer, training and development, arrangements for dealing with Sex-based harassment, arrangements for dealing with pregnant or potentially pregnant employees or employees who breastfeed.
A total of 104 completed questionnaires were received from a total of 168 staff members who were invited to participate in the survey. This represents an overall rate of 62% to the survey.
Key findings:
- 99% of the employees participated in the survey stated that they were satisfied, happy and being treated as a valuable and respected person.
- 96% of the employees agreed that staff members were chosen for a job on the basis of their competency to perform the job regardless of their sex.
- 97% believed that the recruitment process was fair and open.
- 90% of the employees stated that they had fair and good opportunities for promotions at Co As. It.
- 85% of the employees are female.
- 99% of the employees stated that they were encouraged to participate in training activities and their supervisors recognised their contribution.
- 94% stated that the employees who were doing similar kind of jobs were paid in the same rates and both received the same kind of recognition on performance.
- 100% of the employees stated that they have not had any sex based harassment or discrimination.
- 100% of the employees stated that they have not had any discrimination on the basis of being pregnant or breastfeeding.
