Co.As.It. meets Minister for Immigration and Citizenship
Following the Italian National Ball , which this year raised funds to start a dedicated service to support young Italians coming to Australia, Co.As.It. met with Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, the Hon Chris Bowen.
During the meeting, President Lorenzo Fazzini, CEO Andrea Comastri and a number of representatives from the Board and staff, illustrated to the Minister Co.As.It.'s vision in the area of assistance to new migrants.
Co.As.It.'s vision is two-fold:
· Establish a new culturally and linguistically appropriate service to support young Italians coming to Australia
· Position itself as a model for new and emerging communities.
Co.As.It. is a leader in the provision of culturally and linguistically appropriate services to new and established migrant communities.. With over 45 years' experience in assisting the Italian community, Co.As.It. has developed the capacity to provide services to other CALD communities and the mainstream community.
Co.As.It. has the knowledge, experience and vision to become both a service provider and a model for new and emerging communities.
The Minister welcomed Co.As.It.'s initiative and invited Co.As.It. to consider a range of funding opportunities within the Immigration Portfolio.
