From the Backblocks to the Frontlines

A Community Celebration and Photographic Journey of the Italian Pioneers of South Western Sydney.

It is a three dimensional project consisting of a collection of important historical photographs, oral histories of Italian pioneers and their families and other pertinent documentation.

This project meets a number of objectives by actively:- a) Promoting community development and community initiatives as well as encouraging community involvement in the consultation process and ongoing input into the project. b) Enriching society by promoting the benefits of cultural diversity, in this case, the richness of a culturally diverse community who settled in South Western Sydney.

This project is proudly assisted by MHC The Migration Heritage Centre at the Powerhouse Museum is a NSW Government initiative supported by the Community Relations Commission.
