Co.As.It. provides an excellent opportunity for adults to learn Italian language and culture in Leichhardt, the cosmopolitan heart of Sydney's original Italian district, also known as Little Italy.

Our Italian courses are designed to develop and promote communication skills through listening, speaking, reading and writing. Courses are designed for those who would like to gain a basic understanding of Italian or improve their Italian skills further.

Our Italian teachers use a communicative teaching methodology which will help you gain confidence and achieve fluency in Italian because you will be immersed in Italian dialogue using real-life scenarios from the beginning of your course .You will learn about Italian culture as this is an essential but fun tool that will help you develop your language skills even further.

At Co.As.It.'s Italian language centre, you will find Italian courses for every level.

New program features to advance your skills further!

• Six main recognised levels with 25 graded modules, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
• Sequential structure that allows you to enrol directly into the next module once you have completed the previous one
• New online self-assessment test assists with your choice of level and module
• Classes have access to interactive whiteboards
• Online learning resources to support your class lessons

Because the new program structure is so different to our previous one, and there are substantially more levels on offer, all past and new students are required to complete the new free self-assessment testonline before enrolling in one of our courses.

Classes will go ahead when a minimum of 9 students per class is reached. There is a maximum of 17 students per class.

Terms last 9 weeks and classes are held once a week. Each lesson lasts 2 hours and classes are conducted by qualified teachers experienced in Adult Education.

Students are not bound to use or purchase a textbook. Our teachers will provide students with course material each lesson. The program is based on numerous textbooks and Italian resources that can be found in our Italian Multimedia Resource Centre in Leichhardt.

If you have any concerns about your course, feel free to contact the Education Coordinator at any time. At the end of the course we encourage students to provide us with feedback through an evaluation form.
