
Co.As.It. and Thomas Camporeale jointly advise that, after more than 25 years of service to the organisation, including the past 14 years as General Manager, Thomas has decided to resign from his position, finishing his tenure at Co.As.It. on 12 June 2026.
Thomas commenced with Co.As.It. in November 2000 and served in a number of leadership roles before being appointed General Manager in 2012.
Over more than two decades, Thomas contributed significantly to the growth, capability and profile of the organisation. Under his leadership as General Manager, Co.As.It. expanded its aged care, community services, mental health, education and cultural programs, strengthened its position as a leading provider of services to the Italian-Australian community across New South Wales, broadened its service delivery and enhanced its capacity to meet the evolving needs of the communities it serves.
During his tenure, Thomas also helped strengthen partnerships with government, community organisations, educational institutions and stakeholders in Australia and Italy. He supported the growth of the Italian Bilingual School, international educational partnerships and exchange programs, and a range of cultural and community initiatives connected with Co.As.It.’s mission.
He was also closely involved in significant community assets and cultural initiatives, including the Italian Forum Cultural Centre and Norton Street Festa.
His dedication to the Italian-Australian community was recognised through his appointment as a Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by the President of the Italian Republic in December 2020, and the NSW Government Community Service Award in 2021.
The Board thanks Thomas for his longstanding service and leadership and acknowledges his substantial contribution to Co.As.It. and the wider Italian-Australian community.
Thomas has expressed his gratitude to the Board, staff, volunteers, community members and stakeholders who supported him throughout his long association with the organisation.
Following his departure, Thomas will take a short career break before considering future professional opportunities.

Following his departure, the Board of Co.As.It. has appointed Anita Bonanno, Head of Community Services at Co.As.It., as the Acting General Manager.
