Part-time IT & Operations Support Officer

Co.As.It. is seeking a Part-time IT & Operations Support Officer who will provide essential technical and operational support to ensure the smooth functioning of daily business activities. This role is a key point of contact for internal staff regarding IT issues and general operational needs. Working closely with the Operations Team Leader, the position supports efficient, secure, and compliant operations across the organisation.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide first-level IT support to staff, troubleshooting hardware, software, network, and system issues.
  • Set up and configure new workstations, desktops, laptops, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Support mobile phone and desk phone setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist with user onboarding and offboarding.
  • Maintain an internal helpdesk ticketing system, ensuring timely response and resolution.
  • Liaise with external IT service providers when issues need to be escalated.
  • Maintain IT asset registers and ensure accurate tracking of all equipment.
  • Oversee the maintenance and servicing of office equipment, ensuring timely repairs and smooth operation.
  • Assist with delegated building and facilities maintenance procedures, records, and contractor coordination.
  • Conduct regular facilities checks to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance.
  • Complete small, odd jobs around Co.As.It.–owned or leased offices as required (e.g., minor repairs, simple furniture moves, basic troubleshooting).
  • Support record-keeping and documentation requirements to ensure regulatory and organisational compliance.
  • Other duties in line with the philosophy and objectives of Co.As.It. as directed by the Operations Team Leader.
  • Consistently apply Co.As.It. policies and procedures in daily work activities and demonstrate an understanding and commitment to EEO, WHS, privacy and confidentiality and to the principles for a culturally diverse society.

Full time Bus driver/GBA Assistant

Co.As.It. is seeking a Bilingual Italian Full-time Bus Driver/GBA Assistant for immediate start.

Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm

The Bus Driver/Group Based Activities Assistant is responsible for providing transport services and assistance to those participating in the Group Based Activities Program and to work as an effective team member whilst at the Group Based Activities Centre, under the current operating guidelines of the Commonwealth Home Support Programme.

 SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED      

  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting CALD communities in NSW and the impact this has on older people;
  • Previous experience in an aged care or disability setting;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges faced by people affected by dementia;
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of people;
  • Capacity to work flexible working hours as negotiated;
  • Ability to complete all relevant documentation in a timely manner;

Full-time Rostering Coordinator

Co.As.It. is seeking a full-time Rostering Coordinator for an immediate start.

The role of the Rostering Coordinator is to manage the scheduling of services to ensure the continued success of the community care programs at Co.As.It.

Key responsibilities;

Administrative tasks as well as supervision, education and training of care staff.

Essential skills

  • Degree in social work, social welfare, nursing or significant experience in a similar role in a community or aged care setting;
  • Knowledge of the common physical, psychological and social issues affecting frail older people and people living with dementia;
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting older people from culturally diverse communities;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Government funded aged care system;
  • Demonstrated staff supervision skills;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to undertake complex negotiations and develop networks, relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • High level organisational and motivational skills;
  • Ability to meet deadlines on a daily basis, manage competing priorities and tasks and delegate effectively;
  • Well-developed quality improvement and policy development skills;
  • Experience with HCM or similar rostering program;
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, Work, Health and Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity, ethical practices and the Ethnic Affairs Priority Statement.

 Desirable

  • Fluency in Italian;

Care Partner

Co.As.It. is seeking a Care Partner for an immediate start.

The role of the Care Partner is to provide high-quality care to all clients. This will ensure the continued success of the Support at Home program at Co.As.It.

This role oversees Support at Home Services (SAH) aligned with consumer-directed care principles, ensuring that older Australians—especially those from CALD backgrounds—receive person-centred, flexible, and culturally appropriate support to age independently at home.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • A degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, Nursing, or equivalent experience in community or aged-care settings.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting frail older adults, including those living with dementia or from culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Staff supervision experience and exceptional interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.
  • A current Driver’s Licence and fluency in English (Italian language skills are desirable).
  • A Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Full-time Psychologist

Co.as.it. is seeking an Italian Bilingual full-time psychologist, Monday to Friday for immediate start until 30 June 2027

The Psychologist position is funded by NSW Health to provide mental health services to the Italian Australian community living in Sydney. The position is responsible for counselling, group work, community education, mental health promotion and liaison and consultation with mainstream providers.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Degree in Psychology;
  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility for conditional registration;
  • Exceptional counselling, case management and assessment skills;
  • Fluency in Italian and English;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of older people in the community with a particular emphasis on people from CALD backgrounds;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in a community setting;
  • Well-developed organisation and problem solving skills and ability to successfully manage competing issues and priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other services and professionals regarding quality outcomes for individuals receiving services from Co.As.It.
  • Demonstrated experience in using Microsoft Office;
  • Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Use of creative and innovative teaching practices to provide a rich learning environment that acknowledges the different learning styles and levels of student;

Casual/Relief Teachers – Italian Bilingual School

The Italian Bilingual School (IBS) is seeking to fill Casual/Relief teaching positions.

Applicants should be NESA Accredited primary school teachers, native speaker of English or Italian.

The Italian Bilingual School has been established since 2002 and provides a unique approach to teaching and learning by offering a bilingual aspect that has combined elements of both the Australian and the Italian curriculum in order to provide a program of study which targets the needs of our students.

The School is a division of Co.As.It. Sydney-the Italian Association of Assistance.

The school is a primary school that currently caters for children from Prep class (under 5 years old) through to Year 6. It is open to children from any background and is inclusive, co-educational and non-denominational.

Our Vision Statement is clear, “Excellence through Bilingualism” and we value excellence in literacy and numeracy teaching; explicit teaching of thinking skills and social skills; providing a holistic, safe and caring learning environment; and valuing and welcoming the involvement of parents and the wider community.

New students are not expected to have prior knowledge of Italian. The teachers are highly competent and skilled in the process of second language acquisition and are therefore able to assist the children through the different learning phases.

Community Care Worker

Co. As. It. is seeking part time Community Aged Care Workers to assist older Italians in their homes to maintain their independence. Applicants will be required to undertake a functional preemployment assessment and a nationally coordinated criminal history check (NCCHC).

Assistance with the attainment of Certificate III in Home and Community Care will be offered to successful applicants.

Duties:Provision of support and care to elderly, provision of assistance with meal preparation, respite care, social outings, transport, shopping, light housework, personal care.

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in aged care or disability
  • Commitment to ongoing training
  • Current NSW drivers licence and reliable car.

Desirable:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care
  • Fluency in Italian or other languages
