Co.As.It. Celebrates 80 Years of the Italian Republic at its Annual Charity Gala

The Italian National Ball commemorates Festa della Repubblica in Sydney. A time where we acknowledge the birth of the Italian republic, this year celebrating 80 years since its formation in 1946. We also take this event as an opportunity to acknowledge the contribution that our community has made in shaping Australian society. The event also has a special purpose of celebrating the wonderful work of Co.As.It.

As an organisation we acknowledge that our Italian heritage enables us to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the community by enhancing quality of life and providing opportunities for lifelong learning. We have a rich history of providing new services and meeting the demands of our community.

To every event and service, Co.As.It. brings a commitment to lifelong learning and support, it is our credence and an opportunity to give back to the community that has seen struggle and success. The objective of the Italian National Ball is to raise much-needed funds for a worthy cause. This year, our focus is on an evolving issue affecting the community: Disability and Disability Support Services.

This year’s event brought together more than 600 guests to celebrate Festa della Repubblica and support the work of Co.As.It. The evening welcomed a distinguished audience of community leaders, government representatives, business professionals, philanthropists and supporters from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, reflecting the broad reach of our services and the strong spirit of inclusion that continues to define our organisation.

As our flagship fundraising event, the Italian National Ball enables us to continue delivering and expanding vital services and programs that support individuals and families throughout the community.

We are pleased to share that a total of $74,800 was raised on the evening.

These funds will support adults living with disability who are often underrepresented within the community. The initiative will assist in establishing a culturally and linguistically appropriate group program focused on social connection, recreation and wellbeing, helping to reduce loneliness while promoting respite, dignity, independence and inclusion.

To our partners, sponsors, and guests, we send our most sincere thanks. We value your contribution to his prestigious event and your unwavering support and belief in our mission.

To our staff and volunteers, who contributed to them seamless delivery of the event, we send our deepest appreciation for being the lifeblood of the event and a representation of the commitment of our organisation.
