Reflecting on the Year with Co.As.It.

By December 20, 2022 No Comments

As we come to the end of 2022 and embark on the festivities of the Christmas and New Year Period, we might also be reflecting on the year that was. 2022 has brought many changes, and at Co.As.It. we have been working hard to support our community through them all.

Co.As.It. was honoured by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s attendance at our Italian National Ball back in May and at Norton Street Festa in October, alongside Premier Dominic Perrottet. These important community events were celebrations of the longstanding tradition of Italian-Australian cultural heritage and identity in our country.

Alongside the renewed focus on Aged Care reforms, Co.As.It. has worked tirelessly throughout the year to provide a range of services to meet the growing needs of our community. Our numerous Home Care Services, encompassing both personal care, nursing, allied health and home maintenance, continue to support people to live safely and independently at home. Additionally, our social support services have enabled our community members to stay socially connected, with numerous groups, activities and outings conducted throughout the course of 2022. Our free and accessible counselling services have also played an integral role in improving the mental health and well-being of our community.

With the easing of restrictions, Co.As.It. was delighted to resume many of our community events this year, hosting a range of concerts, cultural celebrations, educational seminars and charity fundraisers. We were honoured to partner with The Italian Film Festival, Opera Australia, the National Health and Medical Research Council and The Powerhouse Museum, to name a few! If you would like to keep up with Co.As.It’s upcoming events, then make sure to like and follow us on Facebook.

We also were pleased to recommence in-person Italian classes, supporting the educational needs of our community. In 2022, Co.As.It. continued to teach Italian to over 6000 students through new programs which lead to the internationally recognised certifications CELI and CILS. This is a first in the history of Italian teaching in Australia.

If you are interested in learning Italian – or looking for a last-minute present for a loved one, then consider enrolling in one of our language courses here.

Co.As.It. would like to extend thanks to our wonderful community for another great year. We look forward to continuing to provide lifelong learning and support in 2023!
