Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is co-ordinated by Co.As.It., volunteers from the Italian speaking community befriend residents of Italian background in a one-on-one friendship and visit them regularly, keeping them company or sometimes accompanying them in some activity.

Co.As.It.'s CVS is currently working with a pool of over 50 Community Visitors who visit in over 50 aged care facilities in the Sydney Metropolitan Area and in the Blue Mountains. This programme is free of charge and aims to improve the quality of life of residents in aged care facilities.

Target Group:
Any Italian speaking resident of a Commonwealth subsidized aged care facility, who requests a visitor and would benefit from some company. Most residents are still mentally active and enjoy socialising with someone who shares a similar language and background.
